Moses Frees God's People

Moses Frees God's People

Centuries passed. The sons of Jacob became a mighty nation. So strong that the Egyptians began to be alarmed by their numbers. Pharaoh ordered all their male children to be killed at birth.
There was one mother who nursed her baby son called Moses. When Moses was three months old, his mother decided to put him in a little boat which she floated among the reeds bordering the Nile, telling her daughter to stay a short distance away to make sure nothing happened to him. At that time Pharaoh's fammily saw the baby in the little boat, she pitied him and bring him up as her own.

When Moses was grown up he saw an Egyptian attacking a Hebrew; He killed the attacker with his hands only. The next day he saw another attacker attacking a Hebrew, Moses tried to stop them, one of them said to Moses: " Will you murder me as you murdered the Egyptian yesterday ?
Realizing that his deed is no longer a secreet, Moses fled from Egypt to the land of Mydian

Moses lived for many years as a sheperd in Midian. Then one day Moses saw a strange sight in the desert-a burning thorn-bush which blazed. He approached it and was startled to hear a Voice coming out of the flames. God Said to Moses that He had Heard the cry of His people suffering in Egypt. God was sending Moses to Pharaoh to rescue them and brought back them to their own land of Canaan.
Moses asked God suppose they did not believe him.
God Said: " Throw down your shepperd's crook " Moses did, and immediately it turned into a snake. The terrified Moses fled, but God Commanded not to be afraid, and to catch the snake by the tail. Moses did so and the snake become a staff again.
Moses and Aroon ( his brother ) returned to Egypt. They went to the King of Egypt.
They said: " Our God has Commanded us to travel out of Egypt "
Pharaoh answered: " I will not let Israel go. "
Moses prayed to God. God Answered that Pharaoh would be Forced to let Moses went.
Pharaoh asked Moses to do some miracle to prove that his God had Sent him.
Moses staff was thrown to the ground and it became a snake. But Pharaoh magicians did the same, but the snakes were swallowed by Moses's snake. Pharaoh refused to let Moses's people went.

Moses stroke the waters of Nile with his rod and stretched it over Pharaoh's canal , reservoirs and ponds, they turned to blood. Pharaoh remained obstinate.

Because Pharaoh still refused to let Moses's people went, Moses said to Pharaoh that the Nile would swarm with myriads of frogs which would crowd into the houses etc,
Pharaoh asked Moses to take away the frogs and he would let the people went. But after Moses "taking away" the frogs Pharaoh did not keep his promise. His magicians said to Pharaoh: " This is God's Doing. "

Moses and Aaron said to Pharaoh: " Hear the Words of God now " They said that swarms of flies would invade his country.
Immediately dense swarms of flies infested Egypt.
"Then you can go " said Pharaoh.

But again, when the flies disappeared Pharaoh hardened his heart and a fifth plaque came. A deadly pestilence, carried by the flies, struck all the cows, sheep. horses,,asses and camels. But in Goshen not a single animal belonging to the Israelites died. Yet still Pharaoh would not let the people go.

At midnight Allah struck down all the eldest sons in Egypt and all of the first born of the cattle

The Egyptians urged the Hebrews away. So the Israelites left Egypt on a night that never forgotten, Lord God brought them out of Egypt.

THE CROSSING OF THE RED SEA

Exodus 13, 17-22; 14; 15, 19-21

God Guided the Hebrews toward the sea of Reeds. Jehovah Himself Guided them in a pillar of cloud which moved before them by day and glowed with fire by night, so that they could travel without stopping.

Pharaoh ordered hundreds of the best chariots followed with all the other war-chariots in Egypt, with his all army, set out after Moses and the Israelites: " After them quickly ! "
They saw the whole army sweeping toward them. Panic-striken, they said to Moses: " See what have you done by bringing us out of Egypt ? "
Moses said: " Have no fear ! Trust God. Watch how He will Help all of us ! "
Then Moses strecthed his staff over the sea of Reeds. A street od land appeared accross the sea. Before dawn Moses and all the Israeilites were all marching safely accross the sea.
Without hesitating the Egyptians pursued the Israelities. But when they reached the middle of the seabed, a storm of panic swept through the Egyptians ranks. They were unable to move because because their path was blocked, sank into the mud. " Fly ! " they screamed. " God Fights for Israel ! "
It was too late. Moses stretched out his rod.

From both sides the waters roared back over the struggling horses. Every warrior in Pharaoh's host was drowned. The men shouted praises and the women replied in chorus. dancing with tambourines. O praises the Lord, for He hath Triumphed gloriously.
